Waking Up Early Made Easy With These 10 Morning Mastery Tips
The benefits of early rising can give you tremendous health, wealth, and happiness. These benefits can be seen in rapid succession if you have the right techniques. First off if you are someone who typically says “I’m not an early riser,” know that that is simply a mindset and a self limiting belief that is holding you back from your full potential.
I have recently become an early riser myself. I immediately noticed my stress levels dwindling as I was getting through all my important tasks first thing in the morning.
Tip 1 End With The Beginning In Mind
End your days with tomorrow in mind, remind yourself why it’s important you should wake up early tomorrow. Make sure you are going to bed at a reasonable time. There is no set time, just think, what time do you normally go to bed now? what time do you normally wake up? how difficult is it to wake up? Finding the answers to these questions will make it easier to find what time works best for you.
Tip 2 Wake Up 15 Minutes Earlier
If you’re someone used to waking up at 9am and have a goal to wake up at 5am, do not just jump right into it. It will shock your body way too much and cause you to be extremely tired and lethargic throughout the day. Becoming an early riser doesn’t just happen overnight, it takes time to get used to the habit. Once this becomes a habit it will be second nature to wake up early.
Tip 3 Move Your Alarm Clock
Personally I don’t know anyone who can sleep standing up, thus getting your feet on the floor will surely wake you up. What helps me the most is moving your alarm clock away from my bed to the opposite side of the room forces me to get up and shut off that irritating beeping.
Tip 4 Have An Established Routine
Have a routine established
Having a morning routine in place will be very helpful for getting your mind and body primed for the day. None of the news anchors who are delivering the 8am news wake up in the morning with
Tip 5 Invigorate The Body With Cold Water
By taking a cold shower you will wake your body up by forcing it to work harder to keep it warm. Taking cold showers has been linked to higher fertility rates and lower blood pressure.
Tip 6 Make a big healthy breakfast
After not fueling your body for 6-8 hours skipping a breakfast will counteract your intentions by depleting all the energy you stored up while you were asleep. When you get up in the morning make sure you replenish your mind and body with a highly nutritious breakfast.
Morning Tip 7 Immediately get dressed
Movement creates energy which will be used as momentum to conquer the day ahead. By getting up and putting on your clothes your body will sense the cue that your day is starting and you’ll then become fully alert. This is a great technique if you want to start exercising, immediately get up, get dressed, and put on your favorite pair of running shoes.
Morning Tip 8 Tick Tock…But Not Your Alarm Clock
Get an appliance timer for your lights or even a space heater so its easier to get out of your bed. Along with your alarm clock going off, having a light on a timer to turn on at the same time as your alarm gets the job done. You will open your eyes to a bright upbeat vibe, compared to a dark and dungeons one.
Tip 9 Tall Glass of Wake Me Up
Drink a big glass of water as soon as you wake up. Our bodies are made up of roughly 60% water, thus going 6-8 hours without H2O can have a profound affect on your physical and cognitive abilities.
Bonus: I have found this much easier when I place a nice tall glass of water next to my alarm clock on the other side of the room. That way when I wake up I can jump out of bed and have my
Morning Tip 10
Mantra! Montra! Montra! After shutting off your alarm and drinking your glass of water try consciously reminding yourself positive suggestions. Simply repeating “today is going to be a great day!” will do the trick. The brain is a complex organ yet something as easy as a repeating a phrase a handful of times can have a revolutionary effect on your mindset the rest of the day.
